Virtual room makeovers are a fantastic way to reimagine your space and visualize the final design before ever committing! That’s why I love it so much! I use it all the time to see how rooms in my house would look with both big and small changes. Plus, it’s a great way to convince someone who can’t always see your vision (my hubby) how the room will look when it’s finished.
Our master bedroom desperately needs an overhaul. It’s just not a room that you want to spend much time in, other than sleeping hours, that is. But, we plan to fix that…someday.
Well, OK, if you really want to see how bad it is now, I’ll show you the “before/current” picture. Brace yourselves, and don’t judge…I’m a busy working mom.
Our closet is a huge wall of sliding mirrors…Hello? Does anyone really need to see themselves that much? And the stained carpet has got to go.
So, I got to work on my virtual bedroom makeover using Photoshop, and here’s what I came up with.
Now there’s a room I want to hang out in! The bed, bench, nightstands, lamps and rug are all from Pottery Barn. Such an improvement, right? On a side note, my husband asked me where the Colorado Buffaloes blanket is hiding in the final design. I told him it was in the new closet. ๐

Thank you in advance
Gigi
Sure, Gigi! I’d be happy to help share this technique with others.
Hi, love the makeover! I would also love to know where and how to get and/or use the virtual makeover program you used.
Hi Christine! I use Adobe Photoshop Elements for all of my virtual makeovers. I took an online class from Shoot Fly Shoot to learn how to use Photoshop specifically for room makeovers.
