We just got home from a great vacation last week in New York and Boston. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing Wicked on Broadway in New York City. It was our first time seeing it, and it was just AMAZING! Inspired by Wicked, I decided to dedicate an entire post to decorating with emerald green. Not sure how to use this bold color in your home? Take a look at some gorgeous rooms for a little inspiration, and then scroll to the bottom of the post for links to my favorite green paints and home decor products.
Emerald green works beautifully as a paint color for any room in your home, or even just as an accent wall. It pairs particularly well with black and white, rich caramel-colored leathers, and natural wood tones. I’m sharing some of my favorite green paint colors further down in the post.
You might not think of painting your kitchen cabinets green, but just take a look at this amazing kitchen!
I’m a big fan of painting your interior doors, and green is a great choice for a fun pop of color.
If you’re not ready to break out the paint brushes, you can decorate with emerald green sofas, chairs, pillows, artwork, rugs, and/or decorative items to make a statement and show your personality, in an otherwise neutral room
OK, now that you’ve seen some inspiring rooms decorated with emerald green, I’d like to share some of my favorite paint colors and home furnishings to help you recreate these looks in your home.
PAINT
One of my favorite green paint colors of all time is Night Watch (PPG1145-7) from PPG Paint Co. It’s a beautiful, deep emerald green with aqua undertones. It’s also the 2019 PPG Color of the Year!
Another beautiful green paint is Sherwin Williams’ Hunt Club. This is a classic dark green paint color that looks equally great on walls and cabinets.
I also happen to love Benjamin Moore’s Salamander. This is a very sophisticated dark green, with just a touch of blue in it.

If you never considered decorating with emerald green before, I hope this post has convinced you what a great color choice it can be!
I have to say this post drew my eye straight to that color. Nights watch by PPG has to be my favorite, but it’s so hard to choose. There is just something about emerald green that makes a space feel grand. I love mixing this color with light brown woods and gold.
A few years ago, emerald green wasn’t a color I would have considered using. But now, I just love it!
Love the idea of bringing in this color. Itโs great for bringing in an earthy touch that also feels glam.
It definitely has a glam quality to it! Especially when paired with gold and coppers!
I painted the walls of my kitchen in what is close to the color Salamander in your post. I have a small kitchen and not a lot of wall space, but I have white cabinets, white counters and white brick (faux) backsplash, so this dark green tones down the white and draws attention to the plants in my bright kitchen. I love it.
I can just imagine how beautiful your kitchen must look!
What color of green is on the bedroom wall with the trim?
According to the source (Angela Rose Home), it’s Benjamin Moore’s Essex Green. It’s a really beautiful green!
