It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another Friday Favorite Things post! As a designer, I love to share my favorite items, vendors, and other inspiration with you. So, each week (or once a month, if things get crazy busy), I post one of my favorite things. Please note that my opinions are my own, and I receive no commission or kickbacks of any kind for sharing these items.

Today, I want to talk about Flor carpet tiles. If your first thought was, “carpet tiles are ugly and only for office buildings,” well I’m here to tell you that you are mistaken! Carpet tiles can be a great choice for your home. Not only are they affordable, replaceable, and super durable, but you can you create your own beautiful custom area rug with Flor’s amazing designs.

Because they are so durable, I particularly love using Flor tiles in high-traffic areas like kitchens, hallways, and kid spaces, but they are truly great anywhere. If you’re worried about having a rug under your dining room table, because of inevitable food and drink stains, then consider using carpet tiles. If one gets stained beyond cleaning, you can easily and quickly replace it!

To install your carpet tiles, you just use these Flor dot stickers at each corner to keep the tiles together. It’s super easy! I’ve never had any trouble with the tiles coming apart, or shifting in any way.

And, you want to know the best thing about Flor? You can mix and match their tiles to create something truly unique. Plus, they will custom cut the tiles for you in half, in quarters, in arcs, diagonally…you name it! So, the options for creating a custom rug out of carpet tiles, that will be the perfect style and fit for your space, are practically unlimited!

Hopefully, you can see why Flor is one of my favorite vendors for unique area rugs. Next time you’re looking for an area rug, especially for high-traffic areas, consider carpet tiles!
