Because today is my favorite holiday, I thought I’d share some pics of the Halloween decorations we have in our front yard. We had to go a little “low key” this year with the yard decorations because they just finished installing the grass in the front yard a few days ago. Now, I know that many of you will think that my “low key” is a bit over the top, but normally we have an entire graveyard on our front lawn, and quite a few more life-sized figures.
Life Size Figures
Here is the Grim Reaper we made a few years ago. One of these days, I’ll have to post a tutorial about how easy it is to make guys like this. We also have a life-sized witch, zombie, and headless horseman, but they didn’t make an appearance this year.
Foam Coffin
I made this coffin out of foam a few years ago, and I just couldn’t bear the thought of moving to Colorado without it. The movers thought I was absolutely crazy (which is probably true when it comes to Halloween). They said it was the first coffin they had moved, and that they had never moved so many Halloween decorations for one household. What can I say? I love Halloween.
Window Silhouettes
I also love to the way our homemade window silhouettes look at night. We use colored spotlights in the room or a strobe light to make them glow from inside the house. This year, I had to adjust a few of them to fit in our new windows, but it worked out well. May favorite one (and the one that took the most time) is the skeleton silhouette next to the front door.
Our Newest Addition
This is my favorite Halloween decoration that we added to our arsenal this year. He has already scared the mailman and package delivery drivers multiple times. You can watch the short video clip (link below) to see what he does. Love it!
Hope you all had a great Halloween! Perhaps the most scary part about it is that there are only 7 weeks until Christmas….ahhhhh!
