This month, I’ve been collecting master bedroom ideas and inspiration photos for our bedroom makeover, which is long overdue. I’m secretly hoping to kick off the room renovation this weekend by convincing my husband that we should remove the carpet in the room and expose the hardwood floors underneath. Stay tuned for how that turns out…
I’ve found that being a full time working mom leaves about 5 minutes a day for home improvement projects, which means that I have lots of great ideas for our house, and hardly any time to execute them. Big dramatic sigh… So, while my projects are in various states of completion, I need to live vicariously through others. Here are some beautiful master bedrooms that have not only given me ideas, but also hope that someday mine will look just as great.
This is one of my favorites from Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture. I love the wide plank floors, the yellow sliding barn door, and even the grasscloth wallpaper.
Here’s another very similar version with different colors by the same designer.
Digging the reclaimed wood wall in this one. Makes a great accent wall.
Dark gray walls, with white bedding – looks relaxing. Nice rug, too.
I really like the relaxing color scheme in this bedroom. Great ceiling, too.
And the colors in this one are nice, too. I’m in love with turquoise these days. The ceiling is very similar to the one above, but paneled…gorgeous!
Cool wall treatment behind the bed. This would be very easy to do…
Another beautiful paneled ceiling!
OK, this is a little ridiculous, but I had to share it. We don’t have a TV in our bedroom, but I’m sure my husband would love this!
Look at this beach themed bedroom. Lots of paneling going on, but I’m liking the ceiling colors.
This one would not work well for us here in California (earthquakes and lots of books over your bed…concussion in the making). You gotta really love books for this look, and have tons of them lying around to fill those shelves!
This one is really cute, and I can’t stop looking at the beautiful exposed beams and built-ins. And the view…uh-mazing!
I like the way the dark furniture contrasts with the white bedding. Makes me want to jump right into that bed.
I like the black and white theme, with shades of gray. I think I might need some pop of color (turquoise probably) for my room, but this is pretty.
Another great coastal themed room. More exposed beams. I’d love to lean up against that huge padded headboard with a good book.
This is a beautiful example of a cottage style master bedroom from The Lettered Cottage. I love the paneled wall behind the bed and the mirrored closet doors. These are much more subtle than our monstrous mirrored doors (see our master bedroom here).
I like this one – of course because of the ceiling, but it gives off a nice all-around vibe.
White paneled walls, white barn door, neutral bedding…what’s not to love?
This wallpaper looks like exposed brick when you squint your eyes, which I think would look very industrial (in a good way) in a bedroom. I like the colors overall in this one.
Love the exposed beams and brick fireplace in this master suite
Now this is a feature wall! It may not be right for my room, but it’s an interesting idea. Are those all tiles, you think? Looks like tons of kitchen backsplashes.
Love all the inspiration pictures! Great ideas!
This blog post has many great ideas for master bedrooms. I especially like the bedroom with the exposed brick wall and fireplace. It looks very cozy and inviting.
