Want to add a subtle coastal or beach theme to your bathroom, without going over the top? One great way to get the look is to paint the walls a beautiful turquoise color, use lots of natural elements for your decor, and add some distressed white shelving to tie it all together. We recently did exactly that in our hall bathroom!
For the wall color, we choseย Benjamin Moore’s Wythe Blue. It’s a happy, timeless, gray-aqua that looks great in any room of the house!
I found the perfect distressed white bathroom wall shelves (including towel holder) at the honeytreasures store on Etsy.ย These bathroom wall shelves require assembly, but it was very simple and easy. ย Great quality, beautiful distressed finish, and you can specify the color you want! ย We chose the Antique White color.
For beach decor, look for “found” items like mason jars filled with shells, turquoise glass bottles, small wood signs, bottles filled with sand, or other natural, relaxing items to create the look you want. Remember to keep it fairly subtle to achieve a “coastal” look, rather than a cheesy, tourist trap vibe.
Make your own coastal wall art with a few simple items! Purchase an inexpensive frame or shadow box, a piece of scrapbooking paper that looks like burlap, and a starfish. Attach the starfish to the burlap paper with a hot glue gun, place it into the shadow box, and then mount the shadow box to the wall. The entire project will take you only 5 minutes!
Keep your colors simple (turquoise, white and wood is a great combo!), your decor natural, and you will end up with a gorgeous, relaxing bathroom retreat!
